Much More than a Movement Disorder

People with Parkinson’s disease (PD) suffer from a broad range of symptoms. Even though PD is often recognized from its tremor, those living with PD will tell you that there is much more going on.
Impaired function and reduced quality of life often prevent people with PD from working, exercising, socializing, and doing the things they want to do.
Sadly, nothing exists to halt the progression of these symptoms or eradicate the disease.

We aim to change that.

Major Unaddressed Symptoms

Doctors increasingly recognize an array of non-motor symptoms that plague people with PD, symptoms that are poorly treated or not treated at all. The major unmet needs of people with PD include:

What Happens During/After the Trial? Featuring Jimmy Choi

Are you part of the Light for PD trial—or wanting to learn more about what we’re doing? This short video update answers key questions about what happens after the six-month study ends, including what to expect next and how continued access may work.

With special guest Jimmy Choi, Parkinson’s advocate and American Ninja Warrior, who shares his powerful story and why this research gives him hope.
Whether you’re involved in our trial or simply curious, this conversation will inform and inspire.

Existing Treatments Introduce Side Effects

When people with PD are first treated with dopaminergic medications, they often see immediate improvements to the motor aspects of the disease. But these improvements can wane, requiring increased dosages or new therapies to sustain similar results. Sadly, these adjustments frequently introduce undesirable side effects.

Over time, the complexity of unresolved motor symptoms, undesirable side effects from medications, and unaddressed non-motor symptoms can produce significant difficulties.

New Hope: Improving Overall Function

Our photo-neuromodulation device promises to improve overall function for people with PD—without additional medication and on top of current care. In our phase 2 study involving nearly 100 participants, We saw the promise of broad improvement

We also saw the likelihood of improvements in daytime sleepiness….

The encouraging results of the phase 2 study warrant pursuing a phase 3, pivotal study to attempt to demonstrate safety and broad efficacy in symptoms for which there are limited treatments.
